Grimmway Farms Salmonella Lawyer Update: Carrot Products Recalled Due to Salmonella Contamination.

The company Grimmway Farms has issued a recall on multiple carrot products believed to be contaminated with Salmonella bacterium on July 22, 2021. The potential contamination was discovered by the company during a routine company test of the carrot products. Health officials were notified about the potential contamination in order to issue a press release and inform consumers who might not have heard about the recall. According to Grimmway Farms, no illnesses have been reported as linked to the carrot products at this time.

After issuing the recall The President and CEO of Grimmway Farms, Jeff Huckaby, stated: “The health of our customers and the integrity of our products are our highest priorities, and we will continue to monitor and communicate as additional information is available.” The recall involved carrot products with the brand names of Bunny Luv, Cal-Organic, Grimmway Farms, and 0 Organics. According to the Food and Drug Administration, in addition to the retail–packed carrot products the company recalled certain shredded carrots and chopped carrots that were sold to food manufacturers and foodservice distributors.

Consumers are being advised to be on the lookout for any of the recalled product brands with best-by-dates between August 9, 2021, and August 20, 2021. People who purchased any of the recalled products should refrain from eating the carrot products and either discard them or return them to the place of purchase. Although the company has notified all customers who received the recalled product directly from Grimmway Farms and requested that they remove it from commerce, there is still a possibility that the carrots may be in consumer’s households without their knowledge.

People who have consumed the potentially contaminated products should stay vigilant for symptoms of salmonella such as fever, diarrhea which may be bloody, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In some more severe cases, the bacteria can infect the bloodstream and cause more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.
