Mountain Mel’s Essential Goods Salmonella Lawyer Update: 3 Recalled Brands of Tea.
Mountain Mel’s Essential Goods, LLC announced a recall on 3 of their tea brands on August 29
th
. The recall was prompted by concerns the tea products were contaminated with salmonella. The brands affected by the recall were The Milk Lady’s Herbal Tea Blend, Peaceful Baby Herbal Tea Blend, and Diges-teas Herbal Tea Blend.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) announced that the recalled brands of tea were made with
fennel seeds
from the company Mountain Rose Herbs in Oregon, which had been recalled on July 20
th
for potential salmonella contamination. The Mountain Mel’s brands of tea were sold nationwide through Azure Standard, Mountainmels.com and Amazon.com between June 27 and July 20. Mountain Mel’s Essential Goods has ceased production and distribution of the 3 brands of tea as of July 20, 2019. The recalled products are:
No diseases have been reported up to now but the FDA voiced concerns as all 3 contaminated tea products have the best by date of 7/2021. Customers who are still in possession of the contaminated product should return them to the place of purchase as soon as possible.
