Fresh Attitude Salmonella Lawyer Update: Baby Spinach Recalled in the US and Canada Due to Salmonella Risks.

Vegpro International announced a voluntary recall of their Baby Spinach products with the Brand name Fresh Attitude, on November 27, 2020. The recall was issued after it was discovered that the product was possibly contaminated with Salmonella. The products affected by the recall had best-by dates between December 4th and 5th, of 2020. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as of the date of the recall, no illnesses have been linked to the baby spinach products.

The Fresh Attitude brand Baby Spinach products affected by the recall seem to have been sold in 5oz and 11oz containers. The potentially contaminated products were produced in Vegpro’s Eastern Canadian plant and distributed throughout Eastern Canada and the states in the Northeastern part of the United States. According to the FDA, the only states who received the potentially contaminated products were NY, NJ, DE, CT, MD, and PA. All other Fresh Attitude brand Baby Spinach sold in the US was produced in Belle-Glade Florida and is not linked to this recall.

The recall was announced out of an abundance of caution to inform consumers who might have the potentially contaminated products in their refrigerators or freezers. People who purchased the potentially contained products and are experiencing symptoms of Salmonella are being urged to contact a medical health care provider as soon as they are able to. The products may already past their expiration date but consumers are advised to practice caution if they believe they purchase any of the contaminated products.

The symptoms of Salmonella normally include fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea that can at times be bloody. People more prone to contracting salmonella are young children, elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Ron Simon, a National Salmonella Lawyer, stated:

“The infectious dose of Salmonella is very small, and can be as small as 15-20 cells. These bacteria subsequently multiply at an alarming rate, causing manifestation of symptoms.”
